Atmosphere is an intersubjective and holistic feeling, more a spatial state of the world than a very private psychic state. For this reason, it is mine not because I possess it, but because it concerns me and often deeply involves me. Since it precedes analysis and influences the situation of the perceiver, resisting in some cases (the prototypical ones) any conscious attempt at projective adaptation or epistemic correction, it gives life to involuntary felt-bodily processes and, also as an outstanding example of quasi-thing, authoritatively modulates the predimensional space whose presence we feel.
