AN ANALYSIS OF WORD FORMATION PROCESSES OF INFORMAL WORDS IN THE SLEEPOVER MOVIE

The purposes of this study are to identify the informal words and the word formation processes that the characters used. This research used a descriptive qualitative method. The data were collected from The Sleepover (2021) movie script and analyzed using the Yule theory. From the data, the researcher found seventy-one data to be analyzed. Out of these seventy-one words, the researcher found nineteen data informal words and fifty-two repetition data. With regard to word formation, there are four types of word formation processes used in this movie with the most frequently used being Clipping words
