The article investigates the organization of the pedagogical work (PW) of Physical Education (PE) in the context of social inequality and poverty, based on an investigation in a public school in Pelotas. The research is characterized by being exploratory (GIL, 2002) and interpretative analytical in nature. Therefore, the conception of the method for appropriating reality through thought was based on dialectical historical materialism, so that we could carry out the analysis of reality data. To choose the school located in a region of social inequality, we used data from the Social Interest Housing Plan (PLHIS, 2013).
