The research aims to determine the ability of the seagrass symbiont bacteria Thalassia hemprichii to produce protease and amylase. The symbiont bacteria T. hemprichii had been cultured in the laboratory. Five isolate bacteria namely 3M.2, E2.2, E3.2, 6.2 and 5.2 were analyzed in this research. Â Bacterial enzyme activity was screened by growing the bacterium using the paper disc on skim milk agar and starch agar media for 2 x 24 hours. Â Enzyme activity was indicated by the formation of a clear zone around the bacterial colonies. The proteolytic (IP) and amylolytic indexes (IA) were calculated by dividing the diameter of clear zone with the bacterium colonies.
