The Effect of Range of Motion (ROM) on Muscle Strength Stroke Patients (Literatur Review)

Pendahuluan: Kelumpuhan dan kecacatan merupakan dampak stroke yang tidak hanya dirasakan oleh penderita tetapi juga keluarganya. Salah satu upaya untuk meminimalkan kondisi tersebut adalah dengan Range of Motion (ROM) yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan peredaran darah ke otak sehingga dapat memperbaiki fungsi sensorimotorik. Tujuan Literature review ini untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh ROM terhadap kekuatan otot pasien stroke. Metode: Metode literature review yang digunakan adalah traditional review dengan kriteria inklusi artikel terbitan 10 tahun terakhir (2011-2021), memiliki DOI atau ISSN atau e-ISSN dan mempunyai desain penelitian quasi exsperimental. Hasil: studi literature dari 5 artikel menunjukkan bahwa latihan ROM dengan rentang waktu 4 kali seminggu selama 30 menit didapatkan hasil p-Value sebesar 0,000 yang artinya kekuatan otot pasien stroke mengalami peningkatan setelah melakukan latihan ROM. Kesimpulan: Latihan ROM menunjukkan adanya pengaruh dalam peningkatan kekuatan otot pasien stroke. Disarankan untuk melakukan Latihan ROM secara teratur dan rutin guna mengurangi kecacatan dan meningkatkan kemandirian pasien stroke. One effort to minimize this condition is the Range of Motion (ROM) which aims to increase blood circulation to the brain so as to improve sensorimotor function. The purpose of this literature review is to describe the effect of ROM on muscle strength in stroke patients. Method: The literature review method used is a traditional review with inclusion criteria for articles published in the last 10 years (2011-2021), having DOI or ISSN or e-ISSN and having a quasi-experimental research design. Result: The results of a literature study from 5 articles showed that ROM exercises with a span of 4 times a week for 30 minutes obtained p-Value of 0.000, which means that the muscle strength of stroke patients has increased after doing ROM exercises. Conclusion: ROM exercise shows an effect in increasing muscle strength in stroke patients. It is recommended to do ROM exercises regularly and routinely to reduce disability and increase the independence of stroke patients.
