Hotel buildings have been developing very rapidly in tourism cities, especially in Danang. To effectively manage energy consumption of this type of buildings, it is necessary to establish an energy benchmark, moving towards energy labeling corresponding to buildings' energy efficiency. This study proposes a method to establish an energy benchmark by conducting a survey and analysis of real-world data of 55 hotels in Danang. The results show that the higher the rating (star-rating) of a hotel, is, the more energy it consumes; with an average of 87,4 kWh/m2.year or 8628,6 kWh/bedroom/year. This study also proposes an energy-efficiency-based rating scale for hotel buildings, including 7 grades from A to G. The results of the study demonstrate ...
