This article presents our survey on the cooling preservation of fish on offshore fishing vessels in Danang – Vietnam in general and our research on one fishing vessel in particular. In this research, the current cooling system of the vessel was investigated, its cooling load demand calculated, and a design of the supplementary refrigeration systems proposed. This study is the basis to manufacture and install an supplementary cooling system for a fishing vessel; which opens a new prospect for fish presevation for a long seafaring; lengthening the time on sea of fisherman as well as increasing the quality of fish and food hygiene and safety
