Comparison of Technical Efficiency of Crab-shrimp Farming Model in Kien Giang and Ca Mau Provinces

The research aims to compare the technical efficiency of using DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) model and find out the factors affecting the technical efficiency of Tobit regression method for 208 extensive crab-shrimp farming households in Kien Giang and Ca Mau provinces. Research results show that the average productivity of Kien Giang province is 29.8kg/ 1000m2/ crop, which is higher than Ca Mau province's 19.8kg/ 1000m2/ crop, the profit in Kien Giang province is 5.3 million VND/ 1000m2/ crop which is higher than 3.5 million VND/ 1000m2/ crop in Ca Mau province. Farmers in Kien Giang and Ca Mau provinces have relatively low and equivalent technical efficiency. Regression analysis results in Kien Giang have the model with 2 variables that have an impact on technical efficiency (training and shrimp density), while in Ca Mau, 5 independent variables affecting technical efficiency, namely: (The distance from the pond to the main road, shrimp density, crab density, number of shrimp stocking times and number of crabs stocking times)
