Trade in Goods Between Vietnam and ASEAN Countries From 2000 to 2014

ASEAN has been a big and potential export market of Vietnam for many years. Research results show that trade between Vietnam and ASEAN countries has made remarkable progress. However, before the formation of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), commercial activities in general and goods export and import in particular of Vietnam will face up to a lot of difficulties and challenges. Using gravity model has shown some factors which positively affect export and import turnover of Vietnam such as GDP of partner countries, the opening of economy of partner countries and whether Vietnam and the partners share a border or not. On this basis, the research suggests some policies to promote commodity trade between Vietnam and other ASEAN countries in the future
