Integrative and complementary practices in tertiary care: a review of the literature

INTRODUCTION: The Integrative and Complementary Practices belong to a group of therapeutic interventions, with transversal actions based on traditional knowledge, with preventive purposes and in some cases used for the treatment of some chronic diseases. Because we believe in the pertinence of the alternative and complementary therapies use as a strategy to relieve signs and symptoms, whether physical or psychic. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to analyze the scientific production that uses the descriptor Integrative and Complementary Practices in tertiary care. METHODOLOGY: This is a bibliographic review carried out from 2006 to 2019, in the BVS, LILACS and MEDLINE databases. After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 16 articles were composed of this study, which were later analyzed. RESULTS: By analyzing the PICs applied in the tertiary sector, it can be obtained that the majority 8 (19.04%) were medicinal plants-phytotherapy, followed by meditation 5 (11.9%), and homeopathy 4 (9.52%), massage 4 (9.52%) and chiropractic 4 (9.52%). In 5 (45.45%) articles demonstrate reports of improved physical and psychological well-being, relief of symptoms of the disease, improvement in dealing with the diagnosis, increased energy, decreased adverse effects of allopathics, 2 (18.18%) articles bring improvement of sleep, pain control and anxiety. CONCLUSION: When using the descriptors "Integrative and Complementary Practices" AND "Tertiary Care", a small number of published articles were found, which brought limitation to the study. It was allowed to conclude that it is possible to use PICs in the sectors of tertiary care and the importance of these practices as a strategy to relieve signs and symptoms. In this context, nursing stands out with regard to the application of PICs that are recognized and supported by current legislation. In view of the above, it is affirmed the need to undertake further studies regarding the use of PICs and the need to disseminate the PNPIC.Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação)INTRODUÇÃO: As Práticas Integrativas e Complementares pertencem a um grupo de intervenções terapêuticas, com ações transversais fundamentadas em conhecimentos tradicionais, com finalidades preventivas e em alguns casos usadas para tratamento de algumas doenças crônicas. Sendo assim, justifica-se a importância deste estudo, pois acreditase na pertinência da utilização de terapias alternativas e complementares como estratégia de alívio de sinais e sintomas, sejam eles físicos ou psíquicos. OBJETIVO: Esse estudo tem como objetivo principal analisar a produção cientifica que utiliza o descritor Práticas Integrativas e Complementares na atenção terciária. METODOLOGIA: Trata-se de uma revisão bibliográfica realizada no período de 2006 a 2019, nas bases de dados BVS, LILACS e MEDLINE. Após aplicados os critérios de inclusão e exclusão, compuseram a amostra desse trabalho 16 artigos, que foram posteriormente analisados. RESULTADOS: Ao analisar as PICs aplicadas no setor terciário pode-se obter que a maioria 8 (19,04%) eram do tipo plantas medicinais-fitoterapia, seguidos da meditação 5 (11,9%), e ainda homeopatia 4 (9,52%), da massagem 4 (9,52%) e da quiropraxia 4 (9,52%). Em 5 (45,45%) artigos demonstram relatos da melhoria do bem-estar físico e psicológico, alivio dos sintomas da doença, melhora no enfrentamento do diagnostico, aumento de energia, diminuição dos efeitos adversos dos alopáticos, 2 (18,18%) artigos trazem a melhora do sono, do controle de dor e ansiedade. CONCLUSÃO: Quando utilizados os descritores “Práticas Integrativas e Complementares” AND “Atenção terciária”, foi encontrada pequena quantidade de artigos publicados, que trouxe limitação ao estudo. Foi possível concluir que é possível o uso das PICs nos setores de atenção terciária e a importância dessas práticas como estratégia de alívio de sinais e sintomas. Diante desse contexto, destaca-se a enfermagem no que diz respeito à aplicação das PICs que são reconhecidas e respaldadas pela legislação vigente. Diante do exposto, afirma-se a necessidade de se empreenderem novos estudos referente ao uso das PICs e a necessidade de divulgação da PNPIC.2022-07-1
