Denialism in the classroom: what now teacher?

This research addresses the historical denialism on the subject of Civil-Military Dictatorship in Brazil that began to spread, especially in digital media, due to the current political moment and its extreme right-wing sphere. This situation has entered History classes and, at times, has provoked clashes between students who, influenced by Fake News and other digital sources, question historical truths and find, we teachers, unprepared to address denialism. Reconstructing the memory of the Dictatorship as a period without rights, without individual freedoms, of torture and authoritarian abuse by the State, has become an important social demand, therefore, a duty of the History teacher. Approaching the History of the Present Time and Public History, it was intended to bring together in an App, public content and didactic strategies of collaboration with teachers, which also contribute to the fight against historical denialism, seeking to strengthen the way in which teachers and students receive the various information from digital channels.CAPES - Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível SuperiorDissertação (Mestrado)Essa pesquisa aborda os negacionismos históricos sobre a temática Ditadura Civil-Militar no Brasil que passaram a se propagar, principalmente nas mídias digitais, devido o momento político atual e sua esfera de extrema direita. Essa conjuntura adentrou as aulas de História e, por vezes, vem provocando embates entre estudantes que, influenciados pelas Fake News e outras fontes digitais, questionam as verdades históricas e encontram, nós professores, despreparados para abordar os negacionismos. Reconstruir a memória da Ditadura como um período sem direitos, sem liberdades individuais, de torturas e abusos autoritários por parte do Estado, transformou-se em uma importante demanda social, portanto, um dever do professor de História. Abordando a História do Tempo Presente e a História Pública, pretendeu-se reunir em um App, conteúdos públicos e estratégias didáticas de colaboração aos docentes, que contribuam, também, no combate ao negacionismo histórico, buscando ainda fortalecer a maneira como os(as) professores(as) e os estudantes recebem as diversas informações advindas dos canais digitais
