This paper presents a method to measure the lubricated oil film pressure of the connecting-rod big end bearing in experimental devices. The connecting-rod is made of photoelastic material and is subjected to simulated load as in the engine. A n XCQ-062 BARA pressure sensor is located on the housing bearing at the mid-section in length. This housing is fitted and rotated with the crankshaft. The housing and the crankshaft constitute the journal of connecting-rod big end bearing. The housing carries the pressure sensor and can rotate 15 degrees to measure the oil film pressure at 24 different positons of bearing with the crank angle.
