Micropropagation of Dendrobium Fameri Paxt

Dendrobium fameri Paxt is a type of forest orchid with gentle beauty. This orchid is popular not only in Vietnam but also in many parts of the world. This study investigated the effects of plant growth regulators and organic additives on the stages of micropropagation of Dendrobium fameri Paxt. The results showed that PLBs proliferated best on MS ½ medium supplemented with BA 1.5 mg/L and NAA 0.5 mg/L. MS ½ medium supplemented with BA 0.5 mg/L and NAA 0.5 mg/L was suitable for shoot regeneration from PLBs (187.5 shoots/ explant). MS ½ medium supplemented with BA 1,0 mg/L and NAA 0.5 mg/L was suitable for the growth of shoot clusters (growth index was 2.54). Root formation is the most suitable on MS ½ medium supplemented with banana extract 60 g/L (100% shoots rooted; 9.0 roots/ explant). Chitosan 30 mg/L had a positive effect on the growth and rooting of plantlets (100% shoots rooted; 5.75 roots/ explant)
