Primary Study of Chemical Compounds of Curcuma Longa. L From Champasack Laos

The essential oil of the Curcuma Longa rhizomes from Champasack, Laos obtained by the steam distillation method contains these main components: Zingiberene (22.50%), Ar- tumerone (17.40%), Eucalyptol (15.66%) and other components that have not been identified. The constituents of ethylacetate extract from Laos' Curcuma Longa rhizomes have been investigated using GC/MS. 16 components have been identified and some other ones have not. Also, from this extract the compound M1- Desmethoxycurcumin (C20H18O5 - DMC) has been isolated and its structure has also been determined using spectroscopic methods (MS, IR, 1D and 2D-COSY-NMR) and compared with reported data. According to references, this is the first report about chemical composition of Laos' Curcuma Longa. L
