Gambling disorder is considered a behavioral addiction that combines reward with executive decision-making processes in a complex and fascinating way. Gambling disorder overlaps with various psychiatric diseases, and comorbidity with alcohol use disorder and other substance use disorders is significant in its etiology. As in drug addictions, the dopaminergic mechanisms play a significant role in the neurobiology of gambling disorder.
