Industry 4.0 highlights the need for massive data collection and therefore relies partly on the use of smart parts that are capable of providing data when they are used. In addition, metal additive manufacturing technologies seem to be a way to easily make smart parts and particularly the Wire & Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) process that uses arc-welding technology.
