Abstract

This thesis attempts to approach, through a contrastive analysis, the notion of negation within two linguistic systems, the French and the Modern Greek, brought into contact through the process of translation. By comparing the translated corpora, we observe that during the transition from French to Greek, the translator opts for syntactic negation, while the original text proposes an affirmative sentence, including a term with negative semantism.
