According to the methodology for determining land degradation adopted by the UN for the calculation of the sustainable development goal's (SDG) indicator 15.3.1, land productivity on the basis of remote sensing data is one of the three sub-indicators. At the same time, the process of land degradation is very complex and it has not yet been studied how it is affected by climate changes.
