Archeologia del Metallo in Terra d’Otranto nel Medioevo

The present work presents preliminary data regarding the processing and use of metal in Salento during the Middle Ages. The research, which is part of a larger project that analyses medieval settlement and territory, began through the archaeometry of a sample of metallic slags found during excavation and field survey in Salento and proceeds with a typological and functional evaluation of metal objects from two deserted medieval villages, Quattro Macine (Giuggianello, LE) and Apigliano (Martano, LE), that have been excavated over the past few years
