Physiology of Verticillium dahliae Kleb. and olive interaction: preliminary data. Titolo in inglese in corsivo – Inoculations experiment were performed with two strains of Verticillium dahliae characterized as defoliating (VD312D) or not defoliating (VD315ND) pathotypes, ‘Frantoio’ (resistant) and ‘Leccino’ (susceptible) olive plants. The interaction plant/pathogen was evaluated as: total phenols, carotenoids, chlorophylls, hydrogen peroxide, ascorbic acid, generic peroxidases, and ascorbate peroxidase activity. Inoculated plants showed the typical pathway associate to a stress. The two pathotypes are also able to produce in vitro phytotoxins.
