The discovery in 2017 of the documentation collected by the historian Anna Maria Bruzzone has opened up to research a wide and comprehensive archive. This contribution examines from a linguistic perspective the original voices of five Italian ex-deported women, belonging to the same archive and today object of the transnational project Voices from Ravensbrück. The paper outlines the main differences between the original sources and their written redaction, shed-ding light, at the same time, on the peculiar communication dynamics that occurred within the Ravensbrück concentration camp
