The use of scenarios plays a central role in the identification and specification of measures for a successful transformation of the energy system. In principle, these transformations are very challenging and require the support of a broader set of stakeholders. In our study, we show how multi-criteria decision analysis can be used to support stakeholders’ attitudes towards transformation paths being identified by using scenarios. In contrast to existing approaches, we emphasize the need to consider the heterogeneity of stakeholders and time horizons of stakeholders’ view.
