Bifacial fotovoltaisk (PV) teknologi kan produsere energi fra begge sider av modulen, og kan dermed øke energitettheten ved å utnytte reflektert lys. Teknologien har også vist potensiale til å kunne redusere utjevnet elektrisitetskostnad (LCOE) for PV systemer. Imidlertid er økt usikkerhet forbundet med produksjonsestimater en stor hindring for bifacial PV systemer. Dette arbeidet er utført med det formål å redusere usikkerheten i modellert energiproduksjon fra bifacial PV-kraftverk, gjennom å undersøke effektene av tidsavhengige skyggevariasjoner, variasjoner i albedo og baksideinnstrålingstap.
