This thesis attempts to investigate two lower secondary school teachers’ possibilities for teaching intercultural competence in the English classroom, focusing on stereotypes and prejudice. Two research questions were formed with the intention of collecting data from teachers and pupils at a lower secondary school regarding their experiences with topics related to intercultural competence. In order to answer our thesis question, we have used a qualitative research approach with an action research project where we have worked closely with one teacher while designing lesson plans.
