Ideological council for preservation of monuments, memorials and memorial plaques in Czechoslovakia in the years between 1955-1989

This diploma thesis deals with activities and operation of Ideological council for preservation of monuments, memorials and memorial plaques, that worked in Czechoslovakia in the second half of the 20th century. Ideological council was occupied with large amount of memorials and monuments, their adjustment and construction, determined their priority and council itself has undergone dynamic development. Aim of the thesis is to capture activities, internal affairs and ideological backround of the Ideological council. The main source for this thesis are archive materials from The National Archive, which document activity and course of the Ideological council
