1 Abstract Representation This master's thesis deals with the issues of representation, both legal and contractual, in the area of substantive civil law. The aim of this thesis is to provide acomprehensive overview of the legal regulation of representation in the Czech legal system and to partially compare the Czech regulation of representation with foreign jurisdiction. The representation is regulated mainly by Act No. 89/2012 Coll., The Civil Code. However, the regulation of partial aspects of representation is fragmented into many other legal regulations. The introduction of the master's thesis, as far as possible, briefly discusses the concept of representation, its types and general conditions of representation. Furthermore, the issue of powers of attorney is relatively detailed. I considered very important to deal with this issue in more detail, because the granting of powers of attorney is a legal action that each of us has encountered many times in our lives and can often have a very significant impact on our lives. Within the framework of contractual representation, the corporate representation is also further elaborated in the master's thesis.
