STUDI EVALUASI KINERJA RUAS JALAN (GAJAH MADA KOTA JEMBER)

Road Gajah Mada is included in a trading area and is full of activity where there is a Lippo Plaza mall on the south side of Jalan Gajah Mada. Jalan Gajah Mada has a 4-lane 2-way (4/2 D) type of road. The high activity as an urban road with many shopping centers in the Gajah Mada area often results in the movement of heavy traffic flows. Based on the description above, the background of this research is to find out how the current performance of the Gajah Mada is road, some of the best alternatives according to the researcher, and an overview of the performance of the road in the next 5 years. The data needed in this study are grouped into two kinds of data, namely primary data and secondary data. The survey was carried out on Saturday by considering the effect of the level of side barriers on traffic volume and speed, so the most critical time was taken. The direct surveys are geometric surveys, vehicle volume surveys and speed surveys. The method used in analyzing the data that has been collected for research in determining road performance is the Method According to the Directorate General of Highways (1997). The performance of Jalan Gajah Mada in its current condition for direction A to B gets a DS value of 0.95 with a service level E which means that the flow is unstable with an average travel speed of about 25 Km/hour, and from direction B to A gets a value DS 0.96 with service level E which means that the current is not stable. The solution to overcome congestion on Jalan Gajah Mada for the next 5 years from the analysis results by enabling all lanes for traffic has been able to overcome congestion conditions with a DS value for the next 5 years from direction A to B obtained a DS value of 0.71 with segment performance the road is B and the DS value from direction B to A is 0.72 with the performance of the road segment being B which means that the traffic flow is still stable
