PERLINDUNGAN HAK CIPTA PADA MUSIK YANG DI RE-UPLOAD MELALUI PLATFORM SOUNDCLOUD

In the digital music era, various problems often occur. This problem occurs due to increasing technological sophistication, so that copyright infringement is common, namely reuploading songs without the permission of music creators on various music platforms. The purpose of this paper is to find out whether the act of reuploading music on soundcloud is an act that is economically detrimental in terms of Law no. 28 of 2014 concerning Copyright. How should the legal regulation of the reupload act so as not to harm the copyright owner. The method used by the author is a normative juridical method using a statutory approach. The technique of collecting legal materials in this research is by means of literature study and content analysis. The analysis of legal materials in this writing uses the deductive method. This explanation is a general explanation of this research, so it can be concluded that the act of reuploading on soundcloud is an act that is economically detrimental to copyright owners in terms of Article 9 of Law no. 28 of 2014 concerning Copyright then in the legal regulation of reuploading actions so as not to harm the copyright owner, namely the need for clear regulations regarding reuploading actions because it violates the economic rights of the creator/copyright holder, so the author has a suggestion that the government should pay more attention to legal regulations regarding copyright in music because it must develop following changes that occur in society and secondly, parties who want to reupload a musical work belonging to other people must first ask permission so as not to interfere with exclusive rights, especially economic rights from the creator/copyright holder
