HIPERREALITAS TUBUH LAKI-LAKI (STUDI PADA MAHASISWA PENGGUNA PRODUK PERAWATAN KULIT KHUSUS LAKI-LAKI DI MALANG)

Skin care is an effort to prevent problems that occur on the skin. Nowadays, skin care is not only used by women, but there are also men who like to take care of their skin to support their appearance. This study discusses students in Malang who use skin care products to support their appearance. The purpose of this study is to find out how the hyperreality of the male body occurs in Malang students as users of skin care products specifically for men in Malang. The method used in writing the results of this study is using qualitative research methods, phenomenological research types, and with data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation. The theory used in this research is the theory of Hyperreality by Jean Baudrillard. The results of this study are technological developments that shape media construction so as to form the standardization of one's appearance. Social media provides all information about skin care products to be used as lifestyle references for Malang students. They don't just buy products but buy a trend to make themselves good looking. This makes them lose their identity because of their past and present transformation. So that the main function in consuming skin care products that should serve as a biological need to nourish the skin becomes a function to meet sociological needs
