PENGARUH SELF-COMPASSION TERHADAP STRES KERJA PADA GURU SEKOLAH LUAR BIASA (SLB)

Special education teachers often experience a higher risk of stress than usual because they have a lot of demands compared to teachers in public schools. Besides being expected to have special skills, commitment and high patience, special education teachers must also have strong physical and mental strength when teaching students with special needs. One of the factors that can reduce work stress is self-compassion. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of self-compassion on work stress for special education teachers. This study used accidental sampling technique involving 124 special education teachers as subjects. The scale used is Kusuma's self-compassion scale and the Teacher Stress Inventory (TSI). Analysis of the data by performing a simple linear regression test which then obtained a p value or significance of 0.023 (p < 0.05) and the pearson correlation value was at -0.204. These results indicate that there is an effect of self-compassion on work stress for special education teachers which is negatively correlated. So that increasing self-compassion scores will affect work stress levels and vice versa. The influence of self-compassion on work stress is 4.2% (R2 = 0.042) and the rest of work stress is caused by other external factors
