Faith and Order conferences often used an ecclesiological model that requires further reflection in the modern world because of the changing relationships between the Church and the world. A clear understanding of the social commitments made by the Church is necessary as well as how the Church's interaction with the world changes its nature. The Church is accepted as a communicator of knowledge but how this function is structured needs to be addressed by Faith and Order texts
