ilustraciones, fotografías, graficasSe presenta una revisión filogenética molecular de la subfamilia Dennstaedtioideae (Dennstaedtiaceae) en la cual se analizaron cuatro marcadores del cloroplasto para aproximadamente el 40% de las especies de la subfamilia. Adicionalmente, se codificaron 18 caracteres morfológicos que se emplearon para encontrar clados diagnosticables morfológicamente. Se encontró que Dennstaedtia s.l. es polifilético y su tipo está anidado dentro de Microlepia. Los géneros Leptolepia y Oenotrichia fueron transferidos a Dennstaedtia, y Coptidipteris fue transferido a Sitobolium.
