Background: Prevention of obesity is a public health priority both globally and in Ireland. While the causes of obesity are complex and multifaceted, poor diet is a leading risk factor. Labelling menus with nutrition information has gathered growing public and legislative support in response to the increased consumption of foods prepared outside the home and the associated risks of poor dietary quality and increased body weight.
