Georgia Tech Football Team of 1904

The players are in football jerseys and pants or are wearing heavy roll-neck sweaters instead of jerseys. Heisman is in suit, stiff collar, bow tie and bowler hat. The player seated in the center holds a football lettered 1904. Some surnames have been written across the photo but are virtually illegible. A typed caption under the image says "1904 FOOTBALL SQUAD--BERRIEN MOORE, CAPTAIN." Beneath the caption is an ink inscription: "Tech's first Undefeated Football Team Record(?)."||This was John Heisman's first Tech football team. The inscription beneath this photo says that this was Tech's first undefeated football team, but the record books show that the 1904 team won 8, tied 1 (Clemson), and lost 1 (Auburn). Tackle "Lob" Brown was named All Southern, the first Tech player to win all-sectional honors
