The article presents the results of a study carried out on a corpus of European Union documents with the aim of investigating, at the syntactic, lexical and semantic level, the European Union variety of English, i.e. Euro-English. To demonstrate the hypothesis that EU English is different from Standard English, the article describes the case study of the word "mainstreaming" as used in EU documents
