Slag viscosity effect the physical and chemical process of the converter.In the paper, thermodynamic calculations and interruption experiments are carried out to explore the slag viscosity and phase translated. With the increase of new components Al2O3 and TiO2, the viscosity is decreased. According to experiment result, the low-basicity slag is in molten state except for a small amount of SiO2,and the SiO2, Al2O3 and Fe2O3 are not melted in the high-basicity slag. Thus the reasonable basicity should be controlled at 2,4 ~ 3,2 at 1 500°C
