Nature monuments and monumental trees in the Gora county (dolnośląskie province)

The paper presents results of a survey of natural monuments and monumental trees in the Góra county, Poland. During the field research it was found that there are 32 monuments of nature in the commune of Góra, five objects in the Jemielno commune, five objects in the Niechlów commune, and 46 monuments of nature in the Wąsosz commune. A total number of 93 trees were inventoried – 80 individual trees and one avenue. Six trees could not be found due to lack of information about their location. The health condition of most of the monuments can be considered as very good, most of the trees have minor damage to the branches. Nevertheless, there are specimens with worse health, and even a few are dead. Seventhy six monuments of nature of the Górowski commune are native species, among which the most common are pedunculate oaks (53 trees). The tree with the largest circumference of 819 cm. is a plane tree (monument of nature No. 351, Lechitów, Wąsosz commune). Numerical changes were noticed in the case of the platane alley in Ślubów and two other monuments of nature. There are no monuments of inanimate nature in the Górowski commune. There are 28 individual trees eligible for protection under the monument of nature
