Analizowano udział gazu zatrzymanego w cieczy w strefie wznoszenia i opadania, prędkość cieczy w strefie wznoszenia i opadania oraz czas mieszania w kolumnie air-lift z zewnętrzną cyrkulacją płynu. Badano układy woda-powietrze oraz roztwór gliceryny-powietrze dla różnych objętościowych strumieni powietrza.
