Helmholtz Zentrum Berlin is proposing to setup a fully integrated Energy Recovery Linac ERL test facility called BERLinPro in order to prepare for the next generation synchrotron light source. Key to the success of the BERLinPro program is the performance of the electron source delivering a high brightness high average current beam.
