From the virtual Ipazia to the Oriental city of Cairo viewed through the prism of The Arabian Nights, one observes a similarity in the way cities and women, mysterious and obsessing, show themselves to--or hide themselves from--the eyes of the voyager-voyeur looking for conquests. Through effects of superimposition, the visibility and the types of female figures are linked to their inclusion in the décor of a particular city. ...
