L'entraînement des stratégies de compréhension en lecture : Apports des technologies numériques

International audienceThe goal of this paper is to propose a conceptual framework and an instructional approach for the training of text comprehension abilities during primary and secondary education. In the first part, we present current theories of comprehension, we point out some of their limits and we propose a new model of the processes involved in the functional reading of texts. This model extends the notion of comprehension to situations involving the search, evaluation and integration of multiple textual sources. In the second part of the paper, we introduce a training procedure based on a series of computerized tasks. The procedure was tested with 11-12 year-old students with positive albeit modest effects. We draw a number of conclusions as to ways to the remediation of reading comprehension difficulties in a school setting.Le but de cet article est de proposer un cadre conceptuel et une approche pédagogique pour l’entraînement des capacités de compréhension de textes au cours de la scolarité primaire et secondaire. Dans un premier temps, nous présentons les théories actuelles de la compréhension, nous situons certaines de leurs limites et nous proposons un nouveau modèle des processus impliqués dans la lecture fonctionnelle des textes. Ce modèle étend la notion de compréhension aux situations de recherche d’informations, d’évaluation et d’intégration de sources multiples. Dans la deuxième partie de l’article, nous présentons un dispositif d’entraînement basé sur un ensemble d’exercices informatisés, qui a été appliqué auprès d’élèves de 11-12 ans avec des résultats positifs quoique relativement modestes.
