For years, philanthropy has allocated resources to civil society in Latin America in different ways, including the creation of Funds with various characteristics and approaches. The term "Funds" is used in this document to refer to nonprofit intermediaries created to mobilize and distribute resources. These intermediaries have played an important role in the promotion of social change initiatives in Latin America.This document is the result of an assessment carried out between September and December 2021 aimed at documenting and understanding more precisely the work of Funds in Latin America. Its main objective is to show the different modalities in which these intermediaries—experts in connecting philanthropy with social activism—operate
