Wind turbines in wind farms regularly operate in the wake of other wind turbines and experience lower wind speeds, higher turbulences and a reduced yield. To assess the wake effects different fidelity models can be used. These range from simple ones like the Jensen Model to complex CFD models. The energy production of two wind farms is calculated applying the Jensen and WakeBlaster model. Next, the result is compared to several years of production data provided by SGRE. This data is used to create a power production matrix and compared to the modelled results.
