This paper outlines the conceptualisation and implementation of an information literacy strategy within a concept of lifelong learning at the curriculum level. The strategy involves a framework which identifies the characteristics of the lifelong learner and which forms the basis of the development of resources. It argues that particular roles of teachers and staff providing academic services are central to the success of the strategy
