In the experimental study, the bio-diesel has been prepared from crude Jatropha curcas seed oil (CJCO) by using the technique of high free fatty acids (15% FFA). Biodiesel is known as “The mono-alkyl esters of long chain fatty acids derived from renewable lipid feedstock, such as vegetable oils or animal fats, for use in compression ignition (diesel) engines”. The biodiesel has been blended with ordinary diesel fuel in some proportion and named as B20 (20% biodiesel and 80% diesel) and B30 (30% biodiesel and 70% diesel). The biofuel blends have been tested of its fuel properties ie calorific value, flash point, pour point and autoignition temperature etc with maintained corresponding ASTM standards.
