This chapter compares the global capacities, strategies and potentials of two national universities in contrasting and neighbouring countries, Indonesia and Australia, through the eyes of institutional and research leaders. The purpose of the comparison is to investigate the global higher education setting-the ensemble ofglobal, national and local practices (not just the global dimension)--as a relational environment
