Schooling in Australia is a concept that has changed little since its nineteenth century naissance, leaving it vulnerable to rapid historical changes. This chapter examines the future of schooling in its current change malaise, arguing that without significant workforce re-skilling, schooling and education will be concepts more attuned to the profits of the market than the needs of the individual and society as a whole
