Permanencia y retención de los estudiantes de Contaduría Pública, Universidad de los Llanos

Research addressed a study on dropout and student retention in the context of the program of accounting public of the Universidad de los Llanos, the purpose of the study is to determine the different factors affecting this problem to the inside of the programme, in relation to the methodology applied in the same. His contribution focuses on the contributions that make the information obtained, in order to search the student dropout rate decrease, improve retention and the quality of the training. The theoretical and conceptual framework that supports the research is based on the following theories: models of analysis of student attrition in higher education, social inequality and education, which is to examine all incidents which may affect a student’s decision to abandon its university stage from a perspective of social, economic, family. Likewise, the research focused on an analysis of the curriculum offered by the program, using statistical data provided by the program of Unillanista student retention, PREU, identifying the population of students in accounting, from the first until the last six months in the last five cohorts, this is accomplished through a study of a mixed (qualitative and quantitative) from the analysis and interpretation of aspects of the object of study, this process makes it possible to carry out an evaluation of permanence and retention report.La investigación aborda un estudio sobre la deserción y permanencia estudiantil en el contexto del programa de Contaduría Pública de la Universidad de los Llanos, el propósito del estudio es determinar los diferentes factores que inciden en esta problemática al interior del programa, con relación a la metodología de enseñanza aplicada en el mismo. Su contribución se orienta a los aportes que realice la información obtenida, en procura de buscar la disminución de la tasa de deserción estudiantil, mejorar la permanencia y la calidad de la formación. El marco teórico y conceptual, que soporta la investigación tiene como base las siguientes teorías: modelos de análisis de deserción estudiantil en la educación superior, desigualdad social y educación integral, que consiste en examinar desde una perspectiva social, económica, familiar todas las incidencias que pueden afectar al estudiante a tomar la decisión de desertar de su etapa universitaria. Así mismo, la investigación se orientó a un análisis del plan de estudios que ofrece el programa, mediante datos estadísticos que aporta el Programa de Retención Estudiantil Unillanista, PREU, identificando la población de estudiantes de Contaduría Pública, desde el primer hasta el último semestre en las últimas cinco cohortes, este se logra por medio de un estudio de carácter mixto (cuantitativo y cualitativo), a partir del análisis e interpretación de los aspectos del objeto de estudio, este proceso permite llevar a cabo un informe de evaluación de permanencia y retención
