The effects od cochannel interference in cellular mobile radio networks are investigated, in order to highlight how to develop the analytical evaluation of the corresponding outage ptobability \u2013 and consequently of the frequency reuse distance \u2013 in extremely simplified manner. The methodology presented is in particolar applied when Rayleigh fading, lognormal shadowing and path losses larger than in free space are considered.It is however worth noting that this metodology can also be applied to other fading and shadowing scenarios, like microcells or satellite mobile communications, because it allows the consideration of general statistical conditions for the propagation media
