Urdu short story established a strong creative relationship with mythology in its early stages. Main short story writers of this era like Rashid Ul Khairy,Prem Chand and Sajjad Haider Yildirum have used myths of various cultures and civilizations as components and raw material in thier short stories.This research article claims that Kharistan-o-Gulistan is the very first Urdu short story that has a clear mythical stuff.
